Chikamangalur: The Falls
The
      water that take birth in the hills, flow into the ever-happy-to- receive
      hosts of fields and plains. A flowing living poetry as they descend to
      meet mother earth. 
Hebbe falls: 
8 kms away
      from Kemmannugundi is the Hebbe falls where the water gushes down from a
      height of 554 ft.in two stages 
Kalhatti Falls: 
10
      kms away from Kemmannugundi is another Fall called Kalahasti or Kalkatti
      Falls where the water cascades down from a height of 403 ft. amidst
      fascinating scenery. Legend associates this place with sage Agasthya and a
      serene and a gorgeous local temple constructed in a narrow gap between
      rocks, is attributed to the Vijayanagar times. An annual jatra of
      Veerabhadra is held here for three day during March/ April which attract
      pilgrims from all over.

Amrithapura: 
67 kms north of
      Chikmagalur is Amrithapura known for the splendid Amriteshwara temple
      built in 1196 A.D. by Amriteshwara Dandanayaka, general of the Hoysala
      ruler Ballala II. The temple is designed in a delicate, exquisite and
      intricate style. 
Horanadu: 
Set amidst
      enchanting natural scenery, Horanadu is 100 kms south-west of Chikmagalur.
      The ancient temple of Annapoorneshwari has been restored and opened to
      public.. With the installation of the new image of Adi shakthi, the temple
      is now called Adi- Shaktyatmaka Shri Annapoorneshwari. The pilgrims to the
      temple can avail of the free boarding and lodging at the temple. 
Marle
      
12 kms from Chikmagalur town, Marle, a place of antiquity and
      known for its ancient temples. Renowned amongst them is Chenakeshva temple
      dating back to 1150 A.D. 
Devanur 
35 kms
      Northern - east from Chikmagalur is Devanur, famous for the 17th century
      Lakshimikantha temple and the 13th century siddeshwara temple. 
Thuravanahalli
      
44 kms North- east of Chikmagalur town lies Thuruvanahalli. It
      has a cave associated with Nirvanaswami. Pilgrims flock here in koardes to
      pay homage to the fertility god. 
Belavadi 
25
      kms south- east of Chikmagalur town and just 10 kms from the Hoysala
      capital of Halebid is Belavadi with rich historical refences. This ancient
      village is dotted with temples and shrines, the most outstanfing of them
      being Veeranarayana temple- a fine specimen of Hoysala architecture.
